Orlando A. Taylor

Orlando Taylor is the Assistant Director of Special Programs for UC Riverside's Career Center. He has worked in the Career Center for approximately 21 years. He oversees the coordination of all the Center's major events, special program and speaker requests, and the coordination of the Obtain Resources Become Informed Target Success (ORBITS) Program. ORBITS is a nine-week seminar series focused on the development and exploration of career skills and transferable life skills of first generation, second year UCR students.

He has served as the Center's business career counselor, coordinator of career development, science and pre-health professions career counselor, the on-campus recruitment coordinator, and the job developer/marketing specialist. Prior to coming to UCR, Orlando was assistant coordinator of enrollment and educational enhancement services for the Educational Opportunity Program at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.

He has a Master of Arts in educational counseling from the University of Redlands and a Bachelor of Science in biology from UCR.

Altogether, he has over 25 years of experience in the career development field. He invites students to take full advantage of all the services the Career Center provides. Professional and administrative staff members are available to assist students with career decision making, internship placement, graduate and professional school admissions and more.
