Nathaniel Jones III

Dr. Nathaniel Jones III is the assistant dean and chief financial and administrative officer for CHASS. He oversees all financial and administrative matters for the college including business operations, human resources, facilities and space management, contracts and grants, and the IT team.

Jones received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland. He then went on to get a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University. Jones continued his academic studies at the University of Maryland where he received his Doctorate of Philosophy in public policy with a concentration in health policy.

Jones has over 20 years of experience in finance and administration. He began his professional career in 1987 as the project manager for the University of Maryland Medical System. In 1994, Jones joined Medstar Health where he served as the corporate director of planning, design and construction services. In 2000, Jones become the assistant dean of resources management for the College of Education at Northern Arizona University. In 2003, Jones became project director for a research grant at the Maryland Institute for Policy Analysis and Research and an adjunct assistant professor in the public policy department at his alma mater, the University of Maryland. After completing his research grant, Jones accepted an appointment at Dartmouth as the CFAO of the William Jewett Tucker Foundation and assistant professor of the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice.

Jones is a self-confessed workaholic, but enjoys tennis, biking and spending time with his 12-year-old daughter, Alexis.
