Professor Nunley specializes in rhetorical theory, histories of rhetoric, critical theory, film and visual culture rhetoric, African American literary and cultural studies, African American expressive cultures and music, public pedagogy, neo-liberalism and subjectivities, African American hush harbors, masculinity studies, and critical and feminist geographies.
Professor Nunley is the Professor in Residence for the Honors Program and is the Winter 2012 Resident Fellow, Center for Ideas and Society, "Ornament, Race, and Aesthetics". He held the Winter 2008 Resident Fellowship at the Center for Ideas and Society as well.
