Professor Murray specializes is in the Conditioned Failure Model and the dynamics of the African American family.

Select Accomplishments:

Professor Murray is the recipient of the 1989–90 Distinguished Teaching Award and the 2007 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Fostering Undergraduate Research (LINK TO ) She also received a National Institute of Health grant to conduct developmental research on the socialization practices employed by African American families and to understand the processes by which African American children are prepared to participate successfully in the society-at-large.
